Post-PRP Hair Therapy Care Guide: Expert Aftercare Instructions from Vibra Clinics

Post-PRP Hair Therapy Aftercare Instructions – Vibra Clinics Guide

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy is an effective, non-surgical treatment to stimulate hair regrowth and improve scalp health. At Vibra Clinics, we ensure your treatment is not only precise—but also followed by clear, safe aftercare. Here’s everything you need to know post-PRP to maximize your results.

If you are experiencing hair loss, consult with our specialist for options like PRP therapy, GFC Therapy, Hair Transplant etc.

1. Head Wash & Shampooing Instructions

Do not wash your hair for at least 24 hours post-treatment.

On Day 2, use a mild, sulfate-free shampoo (baby shampoo or doctor-recommended).

Head wash after PRP therapy for hair loss

Wash gently with lukewarm water. No hot water, scrubbing, or scalp massage.

Avoid hair dryers on high heat, hair oils, or styling products for 48 hours.

Using Hair Dryer After PRP Therapy

Resume regular hair washing from Day 3 onward, as advised by your doctor.

2. Workout & Sweating Guidelines

No workouts or intense physical activity for 48 hours.

Avoid sweating, saunas, hot yoga, and steam rooms for 2 days.

After 48 hours, light activity (like walking) is okay.

Full gym workouts can resume after 3–5 days, once scalp sensitivity is gone.

3. Avoid Touching or Rubbing

Don’t touch, rub, or scratch the treated area.

Itching or mild discomfort is normal—avoid any friction or scratching.

4. Sleep Recommendations

Sleep with your head elevated (use 2 pillows) for the first night.

Avoid sleeping face-down or on the treated area.

5. No Alcohol or Smoking

Avoid alcohol and smoking for 48–72 hours. These can reduce blood circulation and slow down healing.

6. Sun Protection

Stay out of direct sunlight for 2–3 days.

Wear a loose hat if stepping outdoors. Avoid tight headgear or helmets that can rub against your scalp.

7. Hair Styling & Products

Do not use hair gels, sprays, or oils for 2 days.

Wait at least 2 weeks before coloring, perming, or chemically treating your hair.

8. Pain or Discomfort

Mild swelling, soreness, or redness is common and temporary.

You may take paracetamol (acetaminophen) for discomfort.

Avoid NSAIDs (like ibuprofen or aspirin) for 48 hours unless prescribed.

9. No Swimming

Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, or the ocean for at least 48 hours to prevent infection or irritation.
